*Camp Raanana @ Cedar Lake (9:30 AM-3:30 PM), mid-June through mid-August.  You will take a bus from the J to Cedar Lake and back each day.

Pre & Post Camp
Morning Drop-off (9:00 AM) & Afternoon Pick-up (4:00 PM)
Pre-Camp (7:30-9:00 AM) & Post-Camp (4:00-6:00 PM)

*Is not required and will not be paid to work these hours.

Assistant Waterfront Director (during swimming or water activities)

Must be entering 9th or 10th grades, and have a desire and attitude to work with children in a small group setting.

Preferred: 1-2 years camp experience whether as a camper or Counselor-In-Training (from previous year if of age).

Must have good communication and organizational skills, and the ability to be creative and take direction/instruction.

*You are not required to be Jewish, but must be open to learning about Judaism (i.e. songs, prayers, etc.).

Responsibilities as an Ozo
□ Listen to, respect, follow the decisions, and report any emergencies or any inappropriate behavior to the Camp Director (Waterfront/Assistant Waterfront Directors during waterfront or water activities)
□ Listen to, and respect opinions of other staff including fellow Ozrim, lifeguards, and counselors
□ Each Ozo is directly responsible to his or her Junior and Senior Counselor at all times
□ Assist the Junior and Senior Counselors, as well as the Atid campers  in all activities including planning
□ Actively participate in any and all activities with enthusiasm
□ Supervise groups of staff and campers, acting as guardian, friend, and disciplinarian, and put their best interests first
□ Maintain a safe and healthy environment for his/her campers, abiding by all camp rules/policies. Ability to assist in emergencies
□ Interpret safety and health regulations
□ Guide campers in participation of all camp activities
□ Assume leadership roles of the group as requested by your counselors
□ Remain with the group except during certain activities just for Ozrim

Physical Aspects of the Job
□ Ability to communicate orally and in writing
□ Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards
□ Ability to enforce safety regulations and execute appropriate emergency procedure
□ Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, injury) and possess strength and endurance require to maintain constant supervision of campers
□ Activities may include / require:
• Prolonged standing, walking
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment
• The need to lift up to 50 lbs
• Prolonged exposure to outdoor elements (sun, wind, rain, etc.) and animals or insects
(bugs, etc.)

□ Interview required prior to hire. Stipend for each week attending between June and August. Paid at the end of camp. All Ozrim have the ability to choose which weeks they would like to attend. Absences unpaid.
□ Overnights are unpaid.
