The Camp Raanana Experience

Camp Raanana serves children entering Kindergarten through Grade 10. Campers are grouped by grade into “cabins” consisting of 5 or more campers. Each cabin is supervised by two or three staff members depending on the age group. Campers will participate in activities with their cabin, and other activities individually based on their choice of chugim (electives). Cabins also participate in divisional and all-camp programs. Middle school aged campers also engage in leadership activities and have more choice of activities. High school aged participants are Counselors-in-Training, and engage in leadership and life skill development as well as enjoying the great outdoors.

The Camp Raanana day begins when the camp provided school bus transportation departs the J’s building at 8:30 AM sharp. At 9:00 AM, we arrive at Cedar Lake Nature Center in Chelsea where the fun begins. After a busy day of rotating activities like swimming, boating, singing, archery, and more, campers board the bus and return to the J’s building by 4:15 PM. Campers are also welcome to be dropped off at and picked up from Cedar Lake Nature Center if that is more convenient. Pre and post camp care is available – see below.

Camp Raanana also offers several optional overnight experiences each summer. These overnights give campers a taste of the traditional camp-out, including elements like tent building, cookouts, making S’mores, campfire song sessions, star gazing, and more. Overnights are in high demand so be sure to register early. To ensure the safety and positive experience for both campers and staff, overnights are limited to 30 spots for each overnight experience. Campers registered for at least one weekly session my sign up for any or all of the overnights.
