Friday & Shabbat

On Friday’s, we like to switch it up!

Instead our normal schedule, we have a kosher hot dog lunch (for purchase only), free swim, and Shabbat at the Lake at the amphitheater overlooking Cedar Lake to finish out the week.

What is included in a kosher hot dog lunch?

Many families choose to purchase a hot dog lunch once a week for their camper. If you have not yet signed your camper up for hot dog lunch, you may do so up to 24 hours in advance by logging in to your JCC account, registering, and paying.

This meal is $5/meal/camper and includes:

• Up to 2 kosher or veggie hot dogs (this is indicated at registration)
• Up to 2 pickle slices
• Chips
• Fruit
• Water

*Although the hot dogs themselves are kosher, the grill they are cooked on, is not.

*If your camper will not be eating hot dog lunch, make sure to pack a cold lunch as usual.

What is Shabbat at the Lake?

Families are invited to join us each Friday beginning at 2:00 PM at the amphitheater overlooking Cedar Lake.  Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and potential camper families are all invited.  When you arrive, a staff member will direct you to our beautiful amphitheater overlooking Cedar Lake. You may then find your camper and sit with them for skits, songs, prayers, challah, grape juice boxes, and snacks as we welcome in the Jewish Sabbath.

You may then take your camper home right from camp (just make sure you sign out with their counselor first)!  Those whose parents or guardians cannot make it, will be transported back to the JCC on the bus. We can’t wait to see you there!
